Mercury

Mercury

Miller Nichols discovered a sculpture in storage in a crate which had never been opened. It was a bronze statue of Mercury. Upon discovering the lost treasure, Nichols placed it in the entrance to stairway to west of the Plaza Association at 450 Ward Parkway. Mercury is the Roman God of trade, commerce, gain, luck, travel, good gifts, and the messenger of the Gods. The original was by Giambologna of Italy. The replica is by a local sculptor.
