Introspection
The sculptor, Larry Young, is recognized for his fluid forms and innovative uses of negative space. “Introspection” is a monumental bronze sculpture, measuring 11.5 feet tall. It was cast by the lost wax casting process. The sculpture represents human contemplation and reflection through the use of three-dimensional negative space. It focuses on human beings’ internal search for the meaning of life and of self. The interior space is surrounded by life forms, which frame a human image in the center, symbolizing man’s ability and need to be reflective, thus the title “Introspection.”
