“When those lines come from my hands, I feel like I’m dancing.” – Rita Blitt

This depiction of an abstract dancing figure stands in front of the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. It is a 26-foot tall steel sculpture that has been painted yellow. It was originally installed at the Bannister Mall at Bannister Road and Interstate 435 in 1980. When the mall was closed, Ms. Blitt saved the sculpture and later donated it to UMKC, her alma mater, where it was installed and dedicated in 2008.
