Fountain Day 2026: The Fountains Flow Again

Kansas City’s fountain season officially returns on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM as KC Parks and Recreation hosts the annual Fountain Day celebration.

This cherished spring tradition marks the moment when fountains across the city are turned on for the season, flowing through mid-October and signaling the arrival of warmer days.

This year’s celebration will take place at the Rose Garden Fountain, located in the award-winning rose garden at Loose Park.

The Mayor and City Councilmembers are expected to participate in the ceremonial fountain activation, continuing a long-standing civic tradition that reflects Kansas City’s identity as the City of Fountains.

The City of Fountains Foundation will be in attendance, and Board President Mark McHenry will speak during the program, underscoring the importance of stewardship, preservation, and advocacy for Kansas City’s fountains.

Fountain Day marks the beginning of a season when residents and visitors alike can once again gather around the city’s most iconic public spaces. We invite the community to join us as we celebrate the return of flowing water and the continued legacy of Kansas City’s fountains.
