Transformed Flower

Transformed Flower

This sculpture is at the north end of the Bloch Cancer Survivors Park, near the intersection of 47th Street and Roanoke Parkway, and is part of the “positive mental attitude walk” section of the park. The sculpture is on an elevated concrete base and is made of stacked polymer material forms that are all 2″ thick. The elements are tight-fitting at the base. However, as the form rises, it twists (overall about 40 degrees) and gaps form between the plastic elements. The form also transitions from a circle at the base into an angular, eight-pointed star at the top.
