Ruth
This marble sculpture of the Biblical figure Ruth sits in the median on the west side of the intersection of Nichols and Wyandotte. She is kneeling on her right knee and holding sheaves of wheat while she gazes off to her right. The center panel of the base, which is sometimes obscured by the surrounding landscaping, is a bas relief depicting the story of Ruth from the Bible.
This sculpture is an original work by Pasquale Romanelli of Florence, Italy. It was purchased by Miller Nichols from Romanelli Studios for placement on Country Club Plaza in 1966.
