Infinite Awareness
On April 13, 2014, a terrible hate crime occurred at the Jewish Community Center and nearby Village Shalom Retirement Community that resulted in the deaths of three people. This sculpture honors the lives of those three people: William L. Corporan, M.D, Reat Griffin Underwood and Teresa R. LaManno. It is located on an exterior wall of the Jewish Community Center near the entrance to the White Theatre.
The memorial symbolizes the belief that the community can choose to overcome hatred with kindness and that we, like the strands of steel in the sculpture, can come together to cause ripples promoting positive change.
