Fountain Fest isn’t just another festival—it’s a full-day celebration of art, music, and the iconic fountains that make Kansas City special, happening on Saturday, April 19th, 2025, at Mill Creek Park. And it wouldn’t be possible without an incredible team of volunteers like you.

Volunteer Roles & Shifts

Full-Day Volunteers

Help make Fountain Fest run smoothly by assisting with vendor tent setup and takedown, managing recycling stations, and directing festival traffic. You’ll be in the heart of the action, keeping everything moving while making sure the festival stays clean and organized.

Half-Day Fountain Fest Greeters

Morning Greeters – Be one of the first friendly faces festivalgoers see! You’ll be stationed at one of four entrance locations, handing out event flyers and directing guests to all the fun. If you love meeting new people and spreading good vibes, this is the spot for you.

Afternoon Greeters – Keep the energy going in the second half of the day! You’ll greet attendees, hand out event flyers, and help guide people through the festival. This role is a great fit for those who want to lend a hand in the afternoon while still having time to enjoy the festival earlier in the day.

Stage & Vendor Assistant

Want to be where the action happens? Help support live entertainment, vendors, and food trucks throughout the festival. This role is fast-paced, hands-on, and perfect for someone who likes to stay moving and be in the middle of it all. Breakfast, lunch, and water provided!

Questions & Answers

Who can volunteer at Fountain Fest?

Anyone 16 years or older can volunteer. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to help and a great attitude!

Do volunteers receive anything for participating?

Yes! All volunteers will receive a COFF volunteer t-shirt and lanyard to wear during the event. Full-day volunteers will also be provided breakfast, lunch, and water throughout the day.

What time should I arrive for my shift?

Arrival times depend on your role. Full-day volunteers start at 7:30 a.m., morning greeters begin at 9:30 a.m., afternoon greeters start at 1:30 p.m. and the stage/vendor assistant arrives at 9:30 a.m.. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to check in.

What should I bring with me?

Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, as all roles require being outdoors. We also suggest bringing sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, and any personal items you may need for your shift.

What if I can no longer volunteer after signing up?

If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can fill your spot. Contact us at admin@cityoffountains to update your status.

Can I volunteer with a friend?

Absolutely! If you and a friend would like to work together, mention it in your sign-up form, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Where do I check in on event day?

Volunteer check-in will be located at the City of Fountains tent. You’ll receive final details, including a map and instructions, in an email before the event.

What happens if it rains?

Fountain Fest is a rain-or-shine event. If weather conditions become unsafe, adjustments may be made, and volunteers will be notified of any schedule changes.

Will I have breaks during my shift?

Yes! All volunteers will have scheduled breaks. Full-day volunteers will also have time to eat lunch and rest
