Contemporaries
AKA Same Generation
The bronze figures and the stainless-steel figures represent people from different cultures and them coexisting in this world.
The inscription on the middle stainless-steel figure reads as follows in English on the front and Chinese on the back:
“Although we’re from different countries, speak different languages, we are breathing the same air of the earth and living in the same world. Happiness or sadness, we’re contemporaries in the connecting world.”
This sculpture is part of the International Sculpture Garden at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
