Kauffman Stadium Water Spectacular

Kauffman Stadium Water Spectacular

The water spectacular at Kauffman Stadium, home of the 2015 World Series Champion Kansas City Royals, is one of Kansas City’s most recognized fountains. The fountain has been viewed by millions of people in person and on TV since the stadium opened in 1973.

The fountains are 322 feet wide and are the largest privately funded fountains in the world. They feature many water jets and water spouts and numerous cascades and waterfalls. The fountains operate before and after games and between innings, while the waterfalls operate continuously. When night falls, the fountains are lit up by different colored lights. When the stadium was renovated in 2008-9, the fountains and cascades were extended past center field to the current 322 feet width and the new “Outfield Experience” allows fans to get close to the famous fountains and see them from angles that were not possible before stadium renovations.
